August 10, 2012 By fancyfreein4th

I am so excited to be participating in the Teachers Pay Teachers Back to School SALE. This sale is from August 12-13th!  Everything in my TpT Store will be 20% off….and get this, if you use the promotion code (BTS12) you will get an additional 8% off!  Hello Back to School SAVINGS!

Here are my top 4 Must Have Back to School Goodies!

1) My top selling item is one that I am most excited about for this coming school year, my Whole Class Journals. Teaching writing can be daunting and a struggle, but these Whole Class Journals help the teacher cover all genres and help the students feel less pressure because of the more informal feel they have about them.  I have 4 sets of  Whole Class Journals that I have bundled together for you all for your Back to School needs!  These Whole Class Journals cover: Personal/Imaginative Narrative, Persuasive Writing, Informational/Expository Writing and Compare and Contrast Writing. These are a great way to cover all genres of writing, build classroom community and use in your writers workshop or as part of your Daily 5.  I have created sentence stems and some language patterns to help guide the students in a more direct way to help their writing be more specific. Check them out individually here: Personal/ Imaginative Narrative, Persuasive, Informational and Compare & Contrast or get the entire  4 journal set for a discounted price here.

My Classroom Economy Checkbook System is great for Upper Grade Classrooms. Having a solid classroom management system is essential for teaching, without this, the careful lessons and activities that we spend all night refining and creating, go out the window. In my classroom I use a three tiered behavior system that has rewards and consequences for the whole group, small groups and individuals.  My Classroom  Checkbooks is a great way to manage Individual Behavior. I have used it every year, no matter what grade level (4th-7th).  The goal is that students will learn how to be autonomous, in charge of their own behavior, and make wise decisions.  They also learn how to balance a checkbook, to be responsible and it reinforces math skills. Plus, kids LOVE this. Anything to do with them earning or losing money, BAM! They are instantly engaged and back on task! You can read more about this Classroom Management System here.

3) Another Best Seller: My Back to School Owl Craftivity and Writing.  This craft is perfect for Back to School because it is both fun and it also gives the students a chance to show you a little more about them. This creativity is perfect for anyone who has an Owl Themed Classroom.  It has little prep, showcases student’s writing and will look great on your walls for Back to School Night!
and lastly…
4) This year, one of my New School Year Resolutions is to be better at communicating with parents.
Communicating with parents is ESSENTIAL for a student’s educational success.   Parents need to know where there child is at in order to help them with difficult concepts that they meet on a weekly basis.
I created this Parent-Teacher Weekly Communication set to help you partner with your parents.  This set spans primary to upper grades, math to reading.  Send these little strips home to let the parent know how they can SPECIFICALLY help their child. It is easy, takes little time to complete and your students will reap the rewards!
Notes include:
Division Facts
Addition Facts Test
Multiplication Facts
Subtraction Facts Test
Letter Sounds
DIEBLS Test
Letter Recognition
Site Words
Rhyming Words
CVC Words
States and Capitals Test
Fluency Test

In addition, I have a WEEK IN REVIEW FORM that is great for students to be reflective thinkers. It urges them to look back at all they have done in the week and set goals.
*I can edit them to meet your specific needs*
I know I am going to go on a shopping spree to get myself ready, I hope you find some good buys too! come get all you need at my Teachers Pay Teachers store!
