I have been MIA because…..

June 17, 2013 By fancyfreein4th

I had a baby!!!!

Welcome my son Eli Donovan!
6 pounds 13 ounces, 19.5 inches long
Born on 6/10/13 at 2:01 PM

I had been busy preparing for baby, getting my long term sub plans set up, which for an OCD teacher is very time consuming!!!  Now we get to bask in new baby joy while helping our almost 2 year old learn about life as a big sister.

Penny meeting Eli for the first time! Melts my heart!
So please forgive me for my blogger negligence, but I am still here and still scheming up things for this up and coming school year!

There’s so much advice I would tell first year- There’s so much advice I would tell first year- teacher-me…. Especially after the last (almost) 2 years of teaching; barely afloat. This year is so hard. I have to stop regularly and tell my student teacher, “it’s never been like this”. But to my core, it’s always been- children first, relationships first, or nothing else matters. Though this year is tough in new ways, there’s still much hope and laughter each day. Thanks @eveleon26 for reminding me of my first, wonderful year of teaching- so I can bring that energy, excitement each day- no matter the circumstance. For all of my teacher friends out there, I see you- I know it’s hard- and I’m grateful for you. (P.S-it’s almost winter break, you got this!) #tiredteacher #cleareyesfullheartscantlose
