Made it Monday

July 9, 2012 By fancyfreein4th

After months of prepartation, I am glad to say that Penny’s first birthday was a success! The Very Hungry Caterpillar theme was a perfect inspiration for food and decorations! So, for this week’s edition of Made it Monday, I am linking up with the talented Miss Tara to share this wonderful, fun-filled day- I made a party!
These cuties were made with care from Emily.

All of the food served at the party came directly from the book:

  •  One apple, two pears, three plums, four strawberries, and five oranges, chocolate cake, ice-cream, a pickle, Swiss cheese, salami, a lollipop, cherry pie, a sausage, a cupcake, and finally a slice of watermelon.
  • For decorations we stuck to polka dots and colors from the book.
  • Activities: Coloring table, a toy kitchen where the kids could make more food for the caterpillar, a pool filled with “polka dots” and a mini bounce house found at a garage sale for $25!

Thank you Apples and ABC’s for the cardboard cutouts of the book!

Happy 1st Birthday my lucky Penny!
