Oriental Trading Teacher Wishlist

October 30, 2016 By fancyfreein4th

I have used Oriental Trading company for years buying party supplies and crafts for both my school and homelife. Every Summer I am planning my kid’s birthday party and without a doubt you will see a giant box with a flamingo on it waiting me on my front porch!slide09

Over the summer I just recently found out that OTC has a new teacher line and obviously I fell in love right away with so many of the goodies in their catalog.  Now I can get even more things from OTC to help my classroom be organized, and, as if that isn’t awesome enough… OTC has a fancy new feature called the  Oriental Trading Company Teacher Wishlist! Here are a few things I scored to help get my year started off on the right foot.

These tall jars are amazing! I got a set of 12 and they are used all around my classroom and in many different ways. My students who have jobs use these to keep the materials they need in order. I am also planning on using them for math centers and to collect box tops.

I also received this hanging rack and set of bags. Perfect for centers!!! I stick the supplies in them and they are easy to put away at the end of the day. Parent helpers can easily set these up for me on Fridays and I am ready to go for the next week.

The one thing I got from OTC’s teacher store that was my most favorite are these amazing Landform Maps. This year my class went 1:1 with Chromebooks. So to get them used to using them and learn how to research we did this group project where as a team they labeled all the parts they knew, looked up the parts they didn’t know and then they wrote a snipit summarizing each landform on a post it note and then colored. It was amazing to see them use this map and they were sooooo engaged!

I got some students offices too and have loaded up my Teacher Wishlist so that parents who are willing can look through my list and buy things for our class. This is PERFECT with the holidays around the corners! Be sure to create your own wishlist and shop on by with Oriental Trading Company! Bring that Flamingo box to your classroom!

Note: I was given these items from Oriental Trading Company in exchange for a review, but all opinions are my own.

There’s so much advice I would tell first year- There’s so much advice I would tell first year- teacher-me…. Especially after the last (almost) 2 years of teaching; barely afloat. This year is so hard. I have to stop regularly and tell my student teacher, “it’s never been like this”. But to my core, it’s always been- children first, relationships first, or nothing else matters. Though this year is tough in new ways, there’s still much hope and laughter each day. Thanks @eveleon26 for reminding me of my first, wonderful year of teaching- so I can bring that energy, excitement each day- no matter the circumstance. For all of my teacher friends out there, I see you- I know it’s hard- and I’m grateful for you. (P.S-it’s almost winter break, you got this!) #tiredteacher #cleareyesfullheartscantlose
