A Pocket Full of Synonyms Bulletin Board Pack

July 11, 2013 By fancyfreein4th

Last year I had a small synonym word wall with 15 overused word that I challenged my students to avoid as much as possible in their writing.
They LOVED going to the board to seek out better words while writing and revising their work.  This summer I haves added 16 more words to the list of overused word that I want them to avoid and have bundled them all together in this pack:
This set is an interactive bulletin board that will be a perfect edition to your classroom! Included are 31 of the most overused words that I am challenging my class to exclude from their writing. Here’s the list of words that I have included:
Each of these words has a page of 8 synonyms to replace it with a more impressive word.
In addition, each overused word is included on a cute pocket that is perfect to display on a bulletin board as a fun, interactive word wall.
Simply print, laminate, cut out and staple the pockets to the bulletin board. Then place the laminated synonyms strips inside each pocket for your students to select from.
Go ahead and pick up this 64 page pack of synonym goodness here at my TpT store. This is a great way to get your students using different, more elevated vocabulary as well as crete a super cute bulletin board that the students will LOVE using.
ANOTHER DISPLAY IDEA:
I found these CUTE French Fry containers in the Target Dollar Spot and I am going to use these to display my synonyms…

This is such a cute idea! I was at Target today but didn't see these. I will have to keep my eye out for them or I can just use library pockets. I wanted to do something like this last year and call them "Fancy Nancy Words".
