Classroom Preview

August 15, 2012 By fancyfreein4th

Today was the day that I was FINALLY able to move in to my new school and new classroom.  I walked in at 8AM sharp, ready to get to work. I was surprised to see that my new classroom was really a storage room. I spent most of the day moving out all the unwanted furniture that was hidden inside.  Thanks to my wonderful and buff husband, we moved out:

10 kindergarten chairs
10 adult chairs
10 primary sized desks
6 filing cabinents (!)
3 rolling carts
3 clocks
2 teacher’s desks (!)
and a load of used art supplies
and some old books/curriculum/testing books
After we moved out a llllll of that, I was SURPRISED to see how much space I actually had to work with.  But then came the mild freak out…”Where are my bookshelves?, Where are my classroom computers?, Where are all of my text books and curriculum?, What do I tackle first…..?”
Thank goodness that I was not alone, I met some AMAZING 3-5th grade teachers who helped me hunt down some book cases and tables. They also were very encouraging and welcoming.  Although I imagined that I would get soooo much more done today then I actually did…. I feel really great.
Here are a couple Sneak Peeks of my classroom BEFORE I make it organized, beautiful, Owl’ified and  READY to rock and roll…..

look at a lllllll that wall space! I had to go out and buy 12 more yards of fabric!
Can’t wait to share the after pics! Wish me luck!

I hate having to hunt down furniture. I'm glad you found some other teachers to help you out. Good luck and can't wait to see what it looks like all finished.
