How I Kept my Kids Busy & Happy Linky

July 1, 2013 By fancyfreein4th

Today I am linking up with Teacher to the Core and her new linky that combines 2 things I love: blogging and parenting.  This linky is great for sharing things that we did with our kids so we can add some extra ideas to our parenting arsenal ….
Here is what we did to keep Miss Penelope busy this week….
Top Left: who doesn’t love to color, especially on extra large paper!
Middle Left: We are trying to potty train, so while she sat to “try” to go pee pee in the potty she decorated herself with stickers!
Bottom Left: Penny has had a lot of Special Daddy Time since we brought home Baby Eli and she is loving her time out with dad even though I don’t want her to give up her mama’s girl status just yet… wait until jr. high little girl.
Top Right: We found a splash park just down the street from us that is PERFECT for little ones.  I recruited a couple of my mommy friends to make this a weekly event for us in the summer. Penny LOVED this park and I love that it is free, close and shaded!!!
Bottom Right:  Penny loves to dig holes, collect rocks, get dirty and run around in the “garden” while daddy works hard beautifying our front yard.
And while Penny played, Eli napped, and ate and napped some more….
My little guy is 3 weeks old today!

Hope all you blogging teacher mommies link up and share some fun things you did this week!

Holey moley – Eli is absolutely precious. I hope he is letting you get the occasional nap, too! 🙂

There’s so much advice I would tell first year- There’s so much advice I would tell first year- teacher-me…. Especially after the last (almost) 2 years of teaching; barely afloat. This year is so hard. I have to stop regularly and tell my student teacher, “it’s never been like this”. But to my core, it’s always been- children first, relationships first, or nothing else matters. Though this year is tough in new ways, there’s still much hope and laughter each day. Thanks @eveleon26 for reminding me of my first, wonderful year of teaching- so I can bring that energy, excitement each day- no matter the circumstance. For all of my teacher friends out there, I see you- I know it’s hard- and I’m grateful for you. (P.S-it’s almost winter break, you got this!) #tiredteacher #cleareyesfullheartscantlose
