March Currently

March 1, 2014 By fancyfreein4th

Does anyone else love how the month of March just sneaks up on you? Today I am linking up with Farley and sharing my March Currently with you all…
Listening: it has been a VERY hot and dry winter in Southern California, but the rains came yesterday and it is much needed!  I love, Love, LOVE listening to the rain. Reminds me of when I studied abroad at Oxford. So peaceful.
Loving: This is one of the first weekends in a LONG while that we have absolutely nothing on our agenda.  We have been such a busy bunch lately- parties, family get togethers, and everything in between.  We rarely get a relaxing weekend at home to just enjoy and slow down.
Thinking: One of my New Year’s resolutions was to be better at meal planning.  The thought behind it is that it is budget friendly, less time consuming and diet friendly.  We were pretty good at it during the month of January, but fell off the bandwagon in February…  So, March, here we go!

Wanting: Last Friday I was told that I was being displaced from my beloved school site.  I had a feeling, but was remaining hopeful that it wouldn’t happen. Unfortunately I was low man on the totem pole and am now prepping for where I will be next year.  I am guaranteed a job, I just don’t know where or what I will be teaching.  It was sad week but jobs are going to be posted next week, so instead of wallowing in my sorrow over leaving a school, staff and community that I absolutely adore, I must prep my resume, update my teaching portfolio and get ready for interviews.  The most daunting aspect is updating my resume… I don’t mind interviews, I am actually really good at them, BUT the resume… UGH! I had our TOSA look at my current resume and he made some really great suggestions but one of them was to add a skills section since, as he said, “You are so tech savvy and the worksheets/lesson plans that you create are amazing.”Now I have to figure out how to put that in writing… I would love any advice you all have on this…

Needing: So being displaced has been so disheartening…and after grieving and processing all of this I realized that I need to commit to having PEACE, knowing that God is in control, PATIENCE through this displacement process and to remain POSITIVE, trusting that I will get a great, new opportunity. Easier said then done….

Can you guess my mystery ???? My answer is: Spa Day- Wine Tour- Korean Karaoke!

I am now off to check in on some of my bloggy-bud’s March Currentlys.

Hmm, is your mystery question, "What is on my bucket list?" I could not imagine having to change schools after enjoying one for so long.

I'm jealous that you have no plans this weekend. Mine is insanely busy. (This is why I am procrastinating on Currently.)

My guess is things you are planning to do in march. I was wondering if you could please check out my new teacher exchange website LIFTPackages.blogspot.com. It is a teacher exchange program in which you meet teachers and send care packages to each other. Please feel free to check out the website, sign up and pass our name along to friends!

    Thanks

There’s so much advice I would tell first year- There’s so much advice I would tell first year- teacher-me…. Especially after the last (almost) 2 years of teaching; barely afloat. This year is so hard. I have to stop regularly and tell my student teacher, “it’s never been like this”. But to my core, it’s always been- children first, relationships first, or nothing else matters. Though this year is tough in new ways, there’s still much hope and laughter each day. Thanks @eveleon26 for reminding me of my first, wonderful year of teaching- so I can bring that energy, excitement each day- no matter the circumstance. For all of my teacher friends out there, I see you- I know it’s hard- and I’m grateful for you. (P.S-it’s almost winter break, you got this!) #tiredteacher #cleareyesfullheartscantlose
