What I’m Pinning Wednesday

July 4, 2012 By fancyfreein4th

Happy Fourth of July to you all and Happy Anniversary to my sweet husband! I love being married to this man! He is supportive, loving, kind, patient and a wonderful father to our little lady.

Today I am linking up with Kinder Kraziness for the combination of two things I love: blogging and Pinterest! Pinterest has given me so many great ideas for my personal and professional life. Here are 5 Pins that I want to share of for this edition of….

 1) This Book Retriever App looks too good to be true! It makes me want to go take my classroom library home and organize the daylights out of it!

2) Inference Bags: This is a good beginning of the school year activity where kids can share something from home and build class community.  It also addresses a difficult skill for kids and by adding in some sentence starters- BAM! you have an ELD lesson!

 3) Synonym Garden: I have seen a million ideas using paint samples, but this one I really want to do this year for over used synonyms such as: cool, said, fun…

 4)  I love this idea and it would be a new approach to my whole class incentive system. Something that is visual for the kids and would replace my current whole group minutes program (where they earn class minutes for a fun Friday activity)…

 5) On a non-teaching Pin, this Saturday we are throwing a Very Hungry Caterpillar themed 1st Birthday for our little girl Penelope.  We are serving all of the food that the caterpillar eats in the book.  On his binge day, Saturday, he eats several things including cherry pie. I am attempting to make cherry pie pops to represent that with the help of the Pin below.

I would love you to follow me on Pinterest too: http://pinterest.com/laylawhenry/

Enjoy the fireworks!
